Working with Kabbalah is a practice that takes time to hone. It is something that is easy to pick up but a lifetime to master. Often people get put off by the amount of ego or fear they have that it rids them of because they are not yet ready to grow. However for those who want a happy life and to learn how to let go, this is the way to do it. We read these works, not as a person born in an era where our namesake ethnicity and identity are location based but as a human on earth working with oneness and the universal light (as we know through reading the related works YHVH (God) is Oneness and Oneness is YHVH (God)). The orthodoxy of religion, which failed in all religions as the world is not yet free of sin, have held back this truth for fear that they would lose power. Not just power to control but the power to be the ones that know, so that there could be those who don’t. Even when the books were opened years ago, there was not a movement in Kabbalah to help it reach the level of Yoga, which it could had the forces within the orthodox not openly combated those within their ranks from sharing the light (reference meditations on Kabbalah by Aryeh Kaplan for more).
Today, we as a human society no longer have to be tied down to the trappings of such ego within the works of any religion, it’s why Christ was not accepted by some as he was The All embodied. Not a starter of religion but the literal embodiment of I Am across the world much like the others of I Am consciousness (A Great movie on the topic), which we also see in Hinduism, Yoga, Taoism (thanks Lau Tzu for being I Am or as he said, The Tao, embodied) and so on. The difference between many of the others and Yeshua as Christ is that the lack of the Kabbalah, Oral Torah, and Aremic/Hebrew/Semetic languages used by the Romans, prevented others from understanding the process to reach YHVH, or oneness (which was displayed very openly in Yoga and other forms of the same practice).
Within Kabblah, is a whole hidden Yoga. One that is known by some but that only a few realize has a complete system of asana, pranayama, mantra (japa and what is called permutations), jnana and more. These would have been what was passed down orally in the era of the communities from oneness until now but was hidden by the orthodox, a surprising move as oneness brings peace, love and humanity to all.
Our example work for today is from an excerpt of the Zohar book toledot (1:136a – P.262 in the Zohar Pritzker Edition Vol. 2)
Rabbi Yitshak opened, saying, “The sun shines forth and the sun sets, and pants toward where he rises (Ecclesiastes 1:5).
“The sun shines forth – sun illuminating moon, for when appearing with Her, He glows, illumined, shining forth from the supernal site abiding above Him, whence He shines constantly,
(U-va ha-shemesh), And the sun sets – coupling with the moon
“moving toward the south – the right, depositing its potency there. Since its potency lies there, all the power of the body is on the right, dependant on the right.
“Then circling towards the north – illumining this side, illumining that side
“Round and round whirls the wind. At first is written sun, and now wind, but all is one – one mystery. All this, so that the moon is illumined by Him and the two of them unite.
“Come and see: When Abraham came to the world, he embraced the moon, bringing Her near. When Isaac arrived he held Her tight, fittingly, drawing Her in love – as has been said- for it is written: His left hand beneath my head. When Jacob came, sun united with moon, illumined. Jacob became complete on all sides; the moon was illumined and arrayed with twelve tribes.
To an untrained person, this just looks like a story. Much of it is in a code that requires the Torah to be read with a certain eye (think the infinite eye of love but also imagine each person as a Buddha, the way Buddhist do also helps as each story is a lesson about something perfectly imperfect). Taken further this is a tantra talking about the masculine and feminine, the sun and the moon, uniting as one. Yet another layer is to see it’s a visualized meditation of the sephirot that clears the body and balances the masculine and feminine in oneness. It is this practice that I am going to share now, something that is hidden in plain sight for those who do not understand the depth of what Yahshua was saying in parables, lessons and through love.
The Exercise:
Visualize the sefirot of the GRA tree of life laid over your body. Kether (crown) is the Crown of our head, Chokma(wisdom) the right temple, Bina (understanding) the left Temple, Tifferet(Beauty) at the central heart area, Chesed (mercy) at the right shoulder, Gevurah (strength or judgement) at the left shoulder, Yesod (foundation) the genitals, Netzach (victory) the right hip and leg, Hod (Splendor) the left hip or leg, Malkuth (kingdom) the feet. We use this tree as the purified form of the tree which has deeper implications later as we develop but that can be felt through the yoga no matter what we know or believe.
Next visualize at your heart Tiferet (beauty) the sun as described in the text. This is also a reference to the Sun of God as well as the Son of God, a known practice of the time but one only those who could remove their ego were called to embody as we do in all yoga. Within the text we then go South to Yesod (genitals). We now have two options, we can visualise Gods light, love, beauty or energy going south or we can traditionally visualize wind (or Air – Aleph) as what we move. Try both and see if you have a different experience or if it’s your intention that matters, there is no wrong way but one that may be more right. We then movie from Yesod (genitals) circling up as is described, visualizing our consciousness going from our Yesod (Genitals) up to Chesed (mercy) and then to Gevurah (strength or judgement). This first loop being the masculine or sun side. From there we now sweep our consciousness to in a circle down in a spiral to our hips through Hod (splendor) and then to Netzach (victory). This loop on the outside being the moon side or the feminine side. From Netzach (victory) we sweep up in a circle to Chokma (wisdom) through Daat (knowledge) and then to Bina (understanding). We then circle down our consciousness to our feet, around the left side of us, to meet Malkuth (kingdom) at our feet, which is what we experience once we are cleared of that which keeps us from oneness (kundalini does this as well). Then finally up in a spiral to the right side up to our crown to meet Kether (crown) at the crown of our head to rest there. It can help to imagine the connection coming from your feet up to slightly above the head and coming down on top of the top of the head. From there we can draw the light, air, consciousness or however we wish to practice down to Tiphereth (Beauty) and do the process again. When done as a wind, to create a whirlwind, it should not be lost on you that Elijah never died but was brought up to God in a whirlwind.
Ultimately this will be what it looks like with Kether being the top of your head and Malkhut your feet.
While the text does not specify a time to practice this, just like any meditation repetition over a period of time is key. I would start at 10 minutes and then progress as you feel called, an hour could easily be achieved. I also recommend reading the related works, as knowing these things increases the power. Lastly, you can do this sitting down and have Malkuth be your sitz bones in easy pose. The proof though, is in the pudding and as this is not a yoga that has been expanded across the world yet it is a taste and see experience but building the consciousness “muscle” of the practice is only one of the benefits one gets from this. Beyond this one gains, peace, strength, loyalty to light, truth and the ability to embody justice along with all that the tree of life represents, which is to also say it removes all that is not of the tree in the world today.
