Het — Monthly Letter, Tammuz (Standing Letter)

Attributes

Het (gutturally pronounced “ch”, as in the German word: Ich-I) is the letter symbolic of both wisdom and life energy. Het in Hebrew means vitality. The letter occurs in an extraordinary number of important words in Hebrew. The reader is encouraged to take note of them.

It is connected to the first month of summer, which is Tammuz, and the zodiac sign of Cancer. It is the first level of Water.

How to do the letter

To do the Het, stand upright, feet joined together. Reach up with your arms extended, keeping the back as straight as possible, then gently bend forward at the waist with the arms and hands aligned reaching for the toes. Keep your legs and arms straight (but not locked), and parallel to each other. Keep your fingers extended with the aim of touching the floor with your fingertips (about one foot in front of your toes). Allow your head to hang, in line with the arms. If you are touching the floor, support your weight evenly between your feet and fingers.
