Samech — Monthly Letter, Kislev (Sitting Letter)
Attributes
In Hebrew, Samech is the letter S, and as a word, means “support”. It is specifically connected to the feminine attribute of Binah-Conception, which is the mother and support of the lower attributes.
Samech is the letter of the last month of autumn, the Hebrew month of Kislev, which is the zodiac sign of Sagittarius, and the third level of Fire.
How to do the letter
To do the Samech begin by sitting in the “Mem position”. Then reach your arms through the space between your crossed legs. Place your palms down with your wrists touching, then find the most comfortable position for lifting yourself up. Experiment with having your fingertips pointing sideways, frontward or backward to avoid strain on the wrists as you straighten your arms. Then, press down on the floor and lift yourself vertically. Maintain the pressure of lifting as much as you can and do the inner exercise 3-5 times.
Note: It is advisable to do some stretching and warm-up exercises for the wrists and arms before attempting to lift yourself up.
Modified version of Samech
Just as with the “Flying Mem” the Samech can be done in a modified way by sitting in a cross-legged position, and reaching your arms through the space between your crossed legs. Place your palms down with your wrists touching, then find the most comfortable position for lifting yourself up. Experiment with having your fingertips pointing sideways, frontward or backward to avoid strain on the wrists as you straighten your arms. Then, press down on the floor and lean forward. Your back should form a more or less 60 degrees angle with the floor. Have your face looking straight ahead rather than down. Hold yourself in the pose and do the inner exercise 3-5 times.
Benefits
Doing the letter Samech has these benefits: helps relieve insomnia, healing and strengthening of most inner organs especially pancreas and large intestines. Also helps the heart and the digestive organs.
Those who are able are advised to practice it everyday.
