Mem Sofit — Final Letter (Lying-down Letter)
Attributes
The Final Mem is the first of the five “strengths” and as such is called the “mother”. It is related to the attribute of Binah-Conception, and associated with the womb because of its enclosed shape. Thus, in its practice, the Final Mem is conducive to intrauterine awareness.
The Final Mem is an everyday letter.
How to do the letter
To do the Final Mem, lie on your back, then lift both knees close to your chest and hug them with your arms. Have the right arm and hand over the left arm and hand. Point your toes up. Lift your head, with the aim of touching your forehead to your knees. Go only as far as you feel your neck can comfortably stretch. Be careful not to strain your neck. Hold the position and do the inner exercise 3-5 times.
Note: it is a challenge to breathe in this posture. It is best done on an empty stomach. When doing the pose try to relax as much as possible the lower back and abdominal muscles.
Benefits
Doing the Final Mem provides these benefits: relief from upper and lower back pains, gathering of energy, and healing of the colon.
